Another Sacrilegious Dig on the Catholic Church

Sometimes, the scrutiny that takes place against the Catholic Church is blatant and in your face.  Other times, it’s subtle.  And other times, it’s downright disrespectful and appalling.  Take a look at this incredibly sacrilegious Hyundai car commercial that aired today during the World Cup.  If you can’t see the video below, click HERE.

Hyundai-Logo_0It’s stuff like this that should make a faithful Catholic irate.  I could pick apart every little sacrilegious element, but I won’t.  I’m fairly confident that a Catholic helped produce this commercial… how else would they know the intricacies of the faith? – The “Agnus Dei” sung at the beginning, the procession, the thurible (incensor) and the distribution of pizza as parody to communion. –  It’s disgusting.  Some would say, “Lighten up, Dave!”.  I say, “No! Enough is enough!”  Would you ever see a commercial being sacrilegious against Jews? or Muslims?  NO WAY.

Anti-Catholicism, the last allowable prejudice in the world.

I test drove a Hyundai once.  One of the most uncomfortable and cheap-feeling vehicles I’ve ever driven.  Now, the official boycott takes place not because of their crappy cars, but because of their utter disrespect for my faith.

TrueMan up!

Tell Hyundai just how big a mistake they made in airing this commercial; I did. Never will I consider purchasing a vehicle from them. Tell all your friends to do the same!

While the commercial does seem anti-Catholic, it is actually a “real” church in Argentina. I’m sure the parallelisms with the Catholic Faith are due to how prominent Catholicism is in Argentina. My take is they broke off from the Catholic Church and created their Church of Maradona. It doesn’t make their church right, but it’s what they believe in. Hyundai is very huge in South America and I think they are catering to their audiences. [Maradona is considered one of the best soccer players in the world and is currently the manager for the Argentine National Team].

Blessed be the name of Jesus.
Blessed be His Most Sacred Heart.
Blessed be Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.
Blessed be the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete.
Blessed be the Great Mother of God, Mary most holy.
Blessed be her holy and Immaculate Conception.
Blessed be her most glorious Assumption.
Blessed be the name of Mary, virgin and mother.
Blessed be St. Joseph, her most chaste spouse.
Blessed be God in His angels and in His saints.

This is completely irreverant! I emailed Hyundai and will spread the word about this sacrilegious commercial.

Great news… Hyundai, after receiving lots of backlash from outraged Catholics, discontinued use of this commercial.
